Open for lunch on weekdays Come visit us for freshly made, reasonably-priced sandwiches, salads, soups and specialties, with free wifi, plenty of space for meetings, quick service for take out orders, and hopefully, plenty of smiles.
Job training for youth In the cafe, local youth and young adults are learning skills they will take with them through life. When you have lunch in the cafe, you are helping young people and our community!
A landmark Built in 1872, the Vance Hotel building was restored in 1998. It is the second largest wood building in California. Our cafe is graced with the original wood paneling, tile floors and marble trim. There are many stories about the people and parties the lobby has seen.
Available for events On weekends and on weekdays after 3pm, the Cafe can be rented for special events. The flowing wood stairway makes it a favorite for small weddings. Groups of 50 or less can be accommodated. Please contact the manager.
Collaborators We are working with local restaurants and food service establishments so our training program will provide qualified entry level workers. If you would like to participate, please contact us.
Needed! Donations from the community are always needed to fund our training programs. Please donate online, or email and we will respond quickly. Our wish list for commercial restaurant equipment: convection oven, 3-bay sink...used is fine, of course.

Hours
Right now we’re open weekdays for lunch, 10am - 3pm. Perhaps later we’ll expand to breakfast or weekends.
