The core of our paid work experience is our retail work skills curriculum and job search readiness task list. Each trainee works one on one with a case manager and our trainers to complete their skills and tasks checklists. Upon completion of their program hours and requirements they earn their certificate!
Every young person has a unique set of experiences, capabilities, talents, and needs. At YouthAbility our focus is on one on one connection to create an individualized plan for success. Having one location where youth can work in a real life retail store, interact, create relationships and access case management services provides a complete picture of the best path to independence.
The power of CONNECTION is unmatched. We want the youth who walk through our doors to know they can count on us to provide guidance, assistance, and support now and in the future. Our resource room and case managers are available to anyone who has taken part in our program at anytime. They can drop in or schedule time to update and print resumes, use computers to job search, chat with our team and receive assistance, grab a healthy snack/free hygiene products/ clothing for job interviews, or just hang out and catch up.
How can we help? That's the primary question at all times. We are all in this together and everyone needs help sometimes.
